I once got in pretty serious trouble for titling a Social Studies project “Debbie Does the Delegates.” And the detention I served as a result was fairly traumatic. But I knew deep in my heart that one day the “Debbie Does” reference would become useful to me once again.
We are getting our act together and taking it on the road…to Philly! On Sunday, May 27th at 8pm, The Soundtrack Series will be live in Philadelphia at L’Etage, the cabaret space at 6th and Bainbridge. And we’ll be featuring all Philadelphia based (or native) storyslingers. Unfortunately they aren’t all using Philadelphia related songs or artists, so no “Philadelphia Freedom”, “Theme from Rocky” or Hall & Oates. But a whole lot of this loveliness…
(Cinderella’s Big Score: Women of the Punk and Indie Underground)
I’m Still Standing/Elton John
R. Eric Thomas
(First Person Arts)
New Attitude/Patti LaBelle
(Crush Comedy, Tell Me a Story)
Turning Japanese/The Vapors
Proud Mary/Ike & Tina Turner
Who Let the Dogs Out/Baha Men
It’s our first show in the 215. So if you’re all up in that area code (or even 267, which is, if I remember correctly, the Philadelphia cell phone area code), we’ll be right at your door. Come out and say hi.This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged Bridget O'Neill, eric thomas, hillary rea, maria raha, reuben mitchell, tyler melchior. Bookmark the permalink.
